Thank God I didn't have anyone over here watching "My Sassy Girl" with me...it would have been embarrassing.
After all, this was just the last piece of evidence in a long line of proof showing that, as much as I'd hate to admit it, I'm really just a sappy woman inside.
I mean, for God's sake I almost cried...
No more of these boy-meets-girl, boy-loses-girl, boy-finds-girl-again movies for me...although in this case it wasn't just the boring old stereotype, it had some twists, especially in the characters and background.
I'd say it's the best "chick-flick" out there, even if it is in Korean and the captions aren't always the greatest.
Ok, enough gushy emotion from me - I'm a man, damnit!
Emotion = bad.
I need a tissue...

Just finished my last class of the term.
That's right, I'm done...
...with lectures, labs, tutorial, and quizzes...
...for the term.
Time to party, right?
Wrong...time to study like mad for exams :(
Psyc especially - 400 pages of 10pt-font, corner-to-corner-printed textbook. Plus stuff in lectures that isn't covered in the text.
100 multiple choice, 3 essay questions, 3 hours.
Then physics AND calculus the next day...
Me gonna die. :(

Just a random prelude to this post: "Hands Down" by Dashboard Confessional might be the greatest song ever written. Sounds absolutely great, and is made even better if you look up the lyrics.
Pure....gold!
Anyway, on to the real post:
Tom Hazelton would be proud of me. I just came back from the QCSA'a 6th Annual Singing Contest.
Yes, QCSA stands for Queen's Chinese Students' Association, and no I didn't sing.
But Eileen did...and she managed to get into the final round! ^.^
Go Eileen!!!
Other highlights include Ravel Li's Justin Timberlake impression (oh man, the words "baby girl" have never been that funny), Fanny's popstar-esque dancing (ssss...that's HOT, girl!) - too bad her mike wasn't working properly, or she definitely would have placed in the final group >.<, and, of course those crazy Sci '06s who performed as "the Twins"....now, I have no clue who these Twins are, besides obviously female Chinese pop stars, but I must say.....hilarity in a can.
Without the can.
I was surprised by how much I managed to enjoy songs sung in Cantonese/Mandarin, considering I couldn't understand a single word.
And yes, they even got stuck in my head after the event...
My hopes are so high that your kiss might kill me.
So won't you kill me, so I die happy.
My heart is yours to fill or burst,
to break or bury,
or wear as jewelery,
which ever you prefer.

I just downloaded a John Mayer song...
...I feel dirty.
Well, actually, I have nothing against the guy - except for the fact that he sounds like a cross between a wino and a rapist with his raspy "husky" try-to-be-sexy voice - you can hear how the whisky and cheap hooch have scratched up his throat/vocal cords. But aside from his voice, I don't mind his music - I just never found him as super-crazy-amazing as many of my colleagues have.
Anyway, gotta run to a calc quiz....stupid things, it takes me longer to get to and from biosci than it does to write the quizes :/
Catch y'all later - and all you Mayer fans, please don't stone/disown me.
Please?

So last night I finally officially graduated from high school.
YIPPEE!!!
The commencement ceremony was actually pretty good, up until the end (when everyone walked across stage to get their diplomas...*yawn*...) - didn't go too too long, Sarah's speech was absolutely fabulous (great job - you really did deserve that standing ovation)....
I was really glad Ms Corry gave my little awards speech - she's so eloquent, and managed to make me sound a lot better than I actually am. Big Mac's speeches were also quite amusing, and very sincere. Coming back to Markham has really made me realize how much I miss these teachers...and those (very) few people I still know back there - Kitty, Jess, Hui, Serena, Mimi - ya know, those crazy YB/Vox people (and oboe-maniac).
Shame on all of you for not having Queen's as first choice! >:(
(or, rather....*tear*)
Can you tell I just finished reading the yearbook grad writeups? It's kinda influencing my writing style right now.
It was fun to go back to MDHS today, even if I was only there for a short while - learnt more in the 40 minutes of Nowikow's AP Physics class than I have all year in PHYS106. Anyway, as usual I left my camera connector thingie at Queen's, so pictures will/might come on sunday/monday (haven't had a chance to start my work, and don't think I'll get the opportunity while at home, so when I get back I'll have to work my ass off....).
*sniff, sniff*....I'm getting all teary-eyed and nostalgic...must keep emotions in check...
Oh yeah, new Vox rox!!! :)
Make sure y'all reserve me a copy next time...and if there's 2 covers, reserve me one of each!
Good job on selling out first day - aMAzing!!! - print more next time :)
Gotta go now, catch y'all later.

So I got a message on my phone today from my don.
Turns out that the following is missing from our res:
- 15 Study Room chairs
- 2 Coffee Tables, from the lounge/fireplace room (total cost: $2300)
- 1 Leather chair, also from the lounge (at least $1000)
As well, one of our elevators has been shut down because of "inappropriate conduct" - turns out people have been, of all things, spitting in it.
Spitting.
And we're Queen's students, the "best of the best".
Yeah, right.
What the Hell do you do spitting in an elevator? I mean, sure, I could understand drunk people puking in it, or maybe some really horny people messing it up with other bodily fluids, but spitting???
How do you come up with that?
"Bob, what do you want to do tonight?"
"Well, Johnson, I think we should cause some ruckus in the new residence."
"Really? And how shall we do that?"
"Let's...spit in their elevator!!!"
"Fantastic idea...oh look, there's a body - let's sprinkle some crack on it and get out of here"
Honestly now. As you can see, I still can't get my mind around it...I'm completely flummoxed.
Anyway, unless the culprits are found, we're going to have to pick up the tab. So if you see anyone who has a nice orthopedic black wheelie chair, a wonderful new leather seat, or a beautiful faux-marble-inlaid-in-wood coffee table, please break their legs and bring them, and the object they stole, back to Stuart St.
Thanks y'all.
Now to figure out why the pre-screened psyc study I was contacted about today doesn't seem to exist...if I can't pre-book for it, should I just show up? Or did I just hear them wrong...grrr.
I'm here without you baby,
But you're still on my lonely mind.
I think about you baby,
And I dream about you all the time...

As promised, pictures from Montreal. Sorry I'm so late with them.
Here's Anna, Gary, and Eva in Eva's room (which is really quite small). As you can see (and should have already known), they are extremely weird.
This is a view of Montreal from about half-way up Mt. Royal. So, if this is half-way, you can just imagine how tall this friggin' hill is, and why it took almost an hour and a half to climb up it.
While on Mt. Royal, Gary uncovered this cryptic place. It might be a secret gang hideout, it might be a wight's barrow, or we might just have overactive imaginations.
Finally, at the top of the mountain, we witness this monstrosity. I feel like my religion has been soiled with this massive Vegas-esque cross... (in case you can't see them, there are light bulbs along the entire frame of the cross...hideous)
On the way down the mountain, we stopped at a chalet to utilize their facilities. Down in the basement, where there was nothing but the washrooms and a few vending machines, was this long hallway. On the left, you can see wire mesh - you'd think there'd be something interesting behind them. But no, it's just flourescent lights. And the benches are so small you fall right off. Completely random, purpose-less furniture and fixings - something you see a lot of in Montreal.
Just to give you some examples of the student off-campus living, here's a shot of Katherine Priestley's pad, and a shot of Fehmida's fireplace (yes, she has a friggin' fireplace in her house...sooo nice!)
Finally, we found out that Gary seems to have an obsession with Stella, getting a little inappropriate with this random glass encasement we found in the middle of nowhere in the underground mall (there were no stores in the immediate vicinity, and no liquor/beer store in the area...as I said, Montreal is really random)
And that's it for Montreal!
I might post some halloween pics later, but first I gotta upload and edit them and such...

Alright, so that last post was a bit much, especially in light of the fact that it seems that whenever my canmate came in from wherever he was, probably at 2:00am or later and probably slightly-to-very inebriated, he took the time and effort to clean up all the beer, put away the knife, and put the cans on his side of the counter.
Still smells like beer in there, but not nearly so strongly as it did before...
I guess my canmate's not so bad after all...
Looks like I might have some time today, so hopefully I can photoshop the Montreal pics to get them down in size, and I'll have some posted by the end of the day.
And maybe some halloween pics as well...
